VICKI,
One more comment. I don't understand why anyone wants their current
name on the 'oldest ancestor' field of the results page. I quite often go
back to that page, and I only click on the ones that have a name I think
could connect somehow to the information I am working on. After all, once
you click on that 'oldest ancestor' DNA number, the descendant can place
their name on that page. In other words, if I am looking for a Benjamin
Carter b.ca 1790 in VA. and that person descends from a Benjamin, but has
their modern name and current date, I would probably never click on their
DNA number to view their lineage data. Therefore, they might lose out on
information that I had found.
Is it just me that thinks this way, or is this the majority???
thanks, Kathy Wells.

Subject: [CARTER-DNA] Test Results on the Websites
Dear Group:
The test results page is becoming huge, possibly meaningless and I am
asking for suggestions on how to redo it.
Since everyone has the ability to view their results, search for matches
at Family Tree DNA, and upload their results to
www.ysearch.org to search
for other matches it may not be necessary to have all the marker numbers
on our site. I was thinking about just grouping people together as I have
now, indicating haplotype, and the number of markers tested and the number
of differences. It would still include the earliest known ancestor.
I have had several members ask that their name be on the page as opposed
to their earliest ancestor. This would be voluntary only so don't worry
that I will add your name without your consent.
These are my thoughts - please let me know what you think.
Vickie
