I am very interested in group 4b because that is the one that my husband's Carter
cousin fits into. I have really enjoyed the great infomation on the Carter cousins site
and hope that other Carters will join but I find it strange that when someone has the DNA
test done that they don't post their family tree that they know of and give us all a
way to get in touch with them in case we have questions. Maybe when the results are posted
they could be encouraged to do that. Also I think we can all see that only having the 12
marker test done is not as helpful as it would be if everyone would do as many markers as
they can afford.
Kit 32390 for Charles Carter b 1757 in Virginia is the only one that has posted their
family info so we can tell how there match might work.
I feel hampered with not being able to share and correspond with the others that are at
lease close on the 12 marker test. What can we do to help this.
Thanks for all the work you have put into the site. It is very helpful.

You are correct. Group 4a all have the same value on marker 439. Looking at
it I probably could have split group 4 into 2 groups. The more I look at
this the more I see. The only way to know for sure if they are related is if
they both share a common ancestor that they can find.

Hi Vickie,
I notice that you divided Haplogroup R1b/Group 4 into Groups 4, 4a, and
4b.
I guess the thinking is that the people in those groups are still related,
but some more closely than others?
