Diana, The only thing I know about Isham Carter is what I found at the
Fluvanna Court House, years ago on a will document. I found a Isham Carter
living in Fluvanna Co. VA, with sons, Phillip, Jesse, and a James Carter, in
his will dated Aug 17, 1820.
Never heard any thing since, until on the Carter DNA, a person matched Group
11, and has some confusing information on there, lately.
I thought Berry was Isham's middle name? On the Carter DNA, it's says he
was born Dec, 8, 1753 and died 1825 in Albemarle Co. VA.
Good to hear from you, again.

My group is Group 11 and I would be interested in any of your findings. If
your greatgrandmother was a single mother at the time of your grandfather's
birth, does this mean that the father was probably not a Carter . Did he
take his mother's maiden name ?

Mike,
I found the name of my grandfather "Albert Melvin Carter", in the group "
I-09", Mode B "1015177" kit number. b 1861, in Tuscolia ILL, Douglas
Co. ILL. In the down column 13-25-15 with the number 15 being colored,
second number , "11-13-17, with the number 17 being also colored. The
number 15 color is in the column DYS, The number 17 color is in the
column
DYS 385. I am unable to comprehend the information that is given to me.
What does it mean and what is my next step. I do know that my Grandfather
was a child born without a known father in the Carter family. His mother
was Catherine Jane Carter b. 1842 who later married a William McMillen in
1864. Mr. McMillen d. 1903. Both burial sites are unkown. Albert was
raised by Catherine's older sister, Catherine's father was Thomas Carter

I hope this information will be of some help to locate those who are in my
Carter lineage.
I do appreciate so much your assistance in my quest.
Arlys Marvin Carter, b. Nov. 25 th 1936 in Wellington Kansas. My age now
is 76 years awaiting next month my next birthday.
