It is unknown, if any of her sisters are of the same mother. It is believed
not, for Britton CARTER's wife left him before 1836 and Eliza Jane CARTER
was born in 1837. Notice the gap in ages between Robert and John.
Listed children of Britton CARTER:
Ruth H. Carter (do not believe she is a daughter but rather the wife of
Thomas V.)
Thomas V. Carter b. 1821 d 1876
Martha J. Carter b. 1823
Robert M. Carter b. 1827 d 1905
John H. Carter b. 1835
Elizabeth Jane Carter b. 1837
William W. Carter b. 1840
Eliza Jane CARTER married John Berry BATTERTON 13 Mar 1856 in Cass Co, IL
and then moved to Topeka, KS

I'm glad to see your post. People were excited about Y-DNA testing and then
got excited about Autosomal DNA testing but mtDNA testing seems to have been
forgotten or ignored by most researchers.
Do you have a list of Eliza Jane Carter's known daughters and who they
married? For that matter, who did Eliza Jane marry? Also, did she have any
sisters?

Dear List Members,
I have a friend whose direct maternal lineage traces back to Eliza Jane
CARTER b: 22 Jun 1837 in Kentucky, daughter of Britton CARTER and unknown
mother. My question is whether or not that there has been any
mitochondria dna traces through Eliza Jane CARTER?
Regards,
Lance
