If he was the immigrant from England then you will need to look in England for his
parents.
Remember, I said 2 out of 3 men from England were "R1b". That means almost 1
out of 3 are something other than "R1b". According to the chart on the webpage
that I posted the link to
earlier, 14% of the men in England are Y-DNA Haplogroup "I1". Having a
less common Y-DNA Haplogroup may actually make it easier -- you have a
smaller pool to search.
