Will,
It is always frustrating to have a match in a DNA project with someone who does not bother
to answer emails or even provide a clue as to a a Most Distant Ancestor. One has to
question the rational for even bothering to joining a Y-DNA surname project in the first
place.
It does appear your group is solidly related and that Rowland/Roland Carter as the Most
Distant Ancestor and your group is dragging along that Kit # 67377 (who has posted no
further information.)
I am in agreement, I see no reason at this point to increase your Y-DNA markers; however,
Family Finder might help you extend your line as it would increase the potential numbers
of persons female or male that might be related to your last known Carter family.
In my other DNA projects where I am administrator, it is a requirement to at least
indicate an Earliest Known Ancestor/Most Distant Ancestor to be in the project and to
provide a contact email.
That rule could be adopted by the Carter DNA surname project, however, I am just the new
guy on the block as a Co-Administrator as far as the Carter DNA surname project is
concerned.
My own personal opinion is a group of numbers with no family information is about as
useless as -- pardon my expression -- "Teats on a boar hog".
Robert "Mike" Terry
Carter DNA project Co-Administrator

Not so far. I have listed my values on Ancestry DNA also.

Do you have a strong match with any non-Carter surname?

I was tested about 5 years ago. So far there has been no match other than 2
other first cousins and Kit #n67377 (who has posted no further information) I
am
not sure if I have tried to contact this person before or if they have the same
information. I have 2 qustions:1st- where do you go from here I see no
advantage to have more markers confirmed since there has never been any reason
to, and 2nd - does the person who has kit # N67377 have any
information going
back to Roland or any generation before Roland?
