Non paternity events have been going on since beginning of time, I would
imagine. Non paternity events include foster, adoption, stepparent and
illegitimate. If a woman died during childbirth, the baby might be raised
by the sister and her family and the child take the aunt's married last
name. What about a child taking his step father's name? Don't think that
all cases were illegitimate. In my case, since he doesn't appear in the
bastardy bonds, I think whatever happened was honorable. It just wasn't
written down.
