Hey everyone,
The way I understood this originally was, they are 2 separate entities.
FTDNA does have each one of us on their site. And, it lists all of the
matches up to about 4-5 markers off, If I remember correctly. And, they
notify me every time there is an exact, or close match.
What Vicky did was try to organize it a little so we could share more
information than just a few marker numbers. I don't think she is tied to
FTDNA that I am aware of. (I could be wrong though). Vicky's website you
just go to it and find your group (if you are in one) and you can still
contact members to get further information. But she has so much more on
her website homepage. Other Carter books, and a few other sources. FTDNA
just lists markers and a contact e-mail.
Thanks, Kathy.

Most other surnames are hosted on-site by Family Tree DNA but Carter is one
of the few surnames that Family Tree DNA "outsourced".
In my opinion, if Vickie is no longer running the show then Family Tree DNA
needs to reclaim it. Right now it looks like the Carter Surname Project is
just sitting in a void. It's hard to get new Carter men to do the Y-DNA
test when the Project is sitting there dead.

I didn't think there was a relationship between Family tree and Carter
cousins. I thought Vickie was hosting a site where we could submit our
results and hopefully meet other cousins to compare and discuss our
roots...
