After I posted this message, I realized I may have used a poor choice of words. When I
said
Ysearch.org probably has a strong bias towards Family Tree DNA, I wasn't implying
that they were fudging the numbers. It's that Family Tree DNA advertises the service
of
Ysearch.org to their customers and encourages them to join. I don't know if any of
the other testing services do that. The customers of the other testing services may not
know about
Ysearch.org so naturally, if they don't know about it, they won't
join.

Subject: [CARTER-DNA] Who Tests Where?
I am curious about who tests where. I know Family Tree DNA is one of the big players but
there are other testing companies.
http://www.ysearch.org/
The
Ysearch.org main page has these numbers:
Number of Records: 99521
Family Tree DNA - 86479
Relative Genetics - 1028
Oxford Ancestors - 372
Other - 11642
This report gives Family Tree DNA almost 87% of the market. But, since
Ysearch.org was
created by Family Tree DNA, I'm sure
Ysearch.org has a strong bias in their favor.
I did find this list of DNA testing companies:
http://www.isogg.org/wiki/List_of_DNA_testing_companies
Most of these I've never heard of before.
