Hi Kathy,
I listed R1b1b2 because that was what ftdna inferred from my Y-DNA 37 marker
test. They would like me to order additional tests to refine it further, but
I don't really see the benefit of doing that for the moment. Since we both
match at 37 markers, I presume the same inference could be made from yours?
It will definitely be interesting to see the outcome of the 67 marker test!
Yes, I noticed that you had a Bailey in Henry Co., very interesting! I just
recently caught the genealogy bug (a trip to Norway and seeing farms my
GGG... lived on from my mother's side - truly amazing!) so my father and
brother are primarily responsible for the existing tree. I've been pressing
my brother for copies of the documentation he has on Thomas Carter since I'm
trying to crack that nut. But it seems like the potential for an Indiana
connection here is huge.
My email is gen(a)keithwcarter.com - I'd love to work with you on this. (it's
ok to post my email on the carter-cousins site)
Keith

Vicki, (in reference to tree for 166645)
I noticed that this persons 'Hap' says R1b1b2....and the rest of us
just have R1b1. Is that a difference of some kind that is going to mean
distance in lineage???
And, is this person on our list so I can contact them? I don't see a
contact e-mail. I noticed Thomas Carter married in 1818 in Henry Co, INd.
A few years ago, I found a Bailey Carter (45 yrs & up) with his wife in
Monroe Co, Ind. in 1811. Since he disappeared from VA. In 1811, I figured
he had died, but then when I found a Bailey in Henry Co, Ind. I remember
wondering if he might have moved there to be with a son??? Your Thomas
Carter b.1788 in Virginia, would fit right in there. Please contact me.
Is there anyone else in Group 1 of R1b1 that has any connections to Indiana?
Thanks a bunch, Kathy Wells.
