Thanks Deloris for you reply.
Yes we all need to keep looking. It would be good if everyone would submit a family tree to the Carter Cousins site and make sure their research it backed up with documentation. We all need to work together to get the connection.

Dear Vickie,
In October I increased my "numbers" from 12 to 25. I was told by FTDNA
that they were having trouble with several "numbers." Have you been given
the results of the 25 and did those include the ones FTDNA said they were
having trouble with?
As
always, thanks for the help,
Dave Carter
Speaking of Group 7... I am #39347 in Group 19, and I am only 1 marker
distant from #18713 and #33614 in Group 7; in fact, a closer match to them
than they are to the others in Group 7. I am wondering if 18713 and 33614
have considered the 25 market test. It could turn out that they are perhaps
in the wrong group. Hard to tell though, unless they get the results of at
least the 25 markers. I am not even close to the others in the group that
have tested at least the 25 markers. Just makes me wonder...

Subject: [CARTER-DNA] James Madison Carter
Hello Nancy,
Thanks for your question about James Madison CARTER. James is in my
husband's Carter family too. I don't have much information on him but mine
agrees with yours. I only had Ann TURNER for a wife for him listed in my
Legacy family tree program but I may have more information on paper that I
will look for later. James Madison's parents were James CARTER and Phoebe
FARMER and they both died in Cumberland county Kentucky.
Now I would like to ask that all the Carter cousins in group 7 would have
the highest marker DNA test done that they can afford and everyone submit
their family tree and start working together on this group. I think the
costs have come down some and you don't have to redo the test, from my
understanding they use the same sample that was previously submitted, but
someone else would have to confirm that.
This DNA group has been a strange challenge for my husband's family
because we were working with two Carter researchers that had their DNA
tested and they turned out to be different groups. One is in Group 7 # 32390
and the other is unmatched # 14437. If you look at what each of them have
submitted for their trees you will see that they are the same.
I have looked at what each of the group 7 members have posted and I can't
see where they are related yet. Maybe we all need to look closer and check
our documentation and make sure what we have there is correct. It would be
great to really know how this CARTER family fits together.
I will be glad to share what I can for the CARTER family. My husband's
CARTER connection comes through his grandmother and we don't have anyone who
can do the test for us.
I hope to hear from all of you in group 7 soon and others that might be
able to help.

Thanks, I have corrected this. I expressed an interest in new software that
another administrator wrote that will give our users the ability to upload
their own gedcoms and will convert test results from Family Tree DNA easily.
When I get it I will let you know and may need your help.

I would like to share what group 1, of the Carter-cousins DNA groups, is doing. We have a site at MyFamily.com, where we are sharing pictures, and all aspects of research for our lines, in the hope that we will be able to connect the dots that will lead us to our common ancestors. The site is password protected and there is a (small) yearly fee but you can post family trees and all kinds of info, make comments and share ideas. There may be other places out there where you can do the same thing, I don't know, we just happen to be at myfamily.com. This is not an advertisement but a suggestion as to how you might be able to work more closely with your groups. Hope it is OK to post this. If not, I appologize. You don't need to reply, I'm just passing this along.
