Hello,
This is my first message to the Carson List.
I'm hoping some kind soul might be able to share information about the Carson-Crum
lines in Ulster County, New York. Here's what I have. Some of the information below
is solid; some is speculation.
Generation No. 1
Johanis / Johannes / John CARSON. He was the son of Walter CARSON (b. 1732, d. ?) and
Elizabeth QUICK (b. 1733, d. ?). John was baptized on July 29, 1753 in Marbletown,
Ulster, NY. He married Anna KROM / CRUM about 1774. Anna was the daughter of Johannes
KROM (b. 1715, d. after 1768) and Enne KOCK / Anne COCK (b. 1723, d. after 1768). Anna
was born about 1752 in Marbletown, Ulster, NY.
Children of John CARSON and Anna KROM are:
John CARSON, born on August 5, 1773 in Mombaccus (later Rochester), Ulster, NY.
Martinus CARSON, born on May 21, 1775 in Mombaccus, Ulster, NY.
Daniel CARSON, born in 1779 in Mombaccus, Ulster, NY.
Antje CARSON, born on September 7, 1791 in Mombaccus, Ulster, NY.
Generation No. 2
Martinus CARSON was born on May 21, 1775 in Mombaccus, Ulster, NY. He married Prudence
CODNER on September 4, 1800 in Fonda, Montgomery, NY. Prudence was the daughter of
Stephen CONNER and Sarah RODGERS. She was born about 1776, and died on February 23, 1831
in Root, Montgomery, NY.
Children of Martinus CARSON and Prudence CONNER are:
Anne CARSON, born on March 20, 1801 in Fonda, Montgomery, NY.
Stephen CARSON, born on December 7, 1803 in Fonda, Montgomery, NY.
Martin CARSON, born about 1811 in Root, Montgomery, NY, and died on January 7, 1883 in
Montgomery County, NY.
I look forward to hearing from anyone who can offer any help about the Carsons, Crums or
allied families.
Thanks,
Joe Dooley
