Carson Researchers:
While looking into this John C. Carson, how about looking into another John
C. Carson, b. SC in 1786, married Elizabeth Henderson probably about 1806,
had son Nathan Franklin Carson and daughter Sarah Ann Swan (Carson)
McDonald, and moved to AL about 1819. They were in AL until about 1846,
then in Harrison Co., MS in 1850. Shortly thereafter, on to Texas. You can
read all about this on my website:

Can anybody help?

Phyllis, I found information in these texts:
South Carolina Marriages
1688-1799
Brent H. Holcomb
Pendleton District & Anderson Co., SC
Wills, Estates, & Legal Records
Virginia Alexander
William Carson of Charles Town, merchant, married Rebeckah Lloyd,
spinster,
minor, only daughter of John Lloyd, deceased, 10 Jan 1770, James
Carson
trusteee & witness. "Miscellaneous Records" pgs 560-564.
James Carson of Charleston, merchant, married Elizabeth Neyle May 7, 1796.
"Marriage Settlements" Vol 2 pgs 521-522.
The will you mentioned for James Carson was dated Apr 15, 1838. The
details
I found indicate his wife was Tolley, two children had already
married and
left the household, William & Narcissa, and five children remained, James
Madison, Lemuel, John, Sarah Ann, Allen.
There is a will for John Whitten dated May 21, 1829, executor James
Whitten.
Hope this presents new and helpful info for you.
