No problem, Josette, I think the hint of Rutherford County will help, and
next time I am at the library I will check for you.

Subject: Re: [CARSON]
The only evidence we have is that William Carson, son of
Agness and Walter Carson of what was then York Ct. PA
was definitely in NC by 1783. We have a letter written by
his nephew Walter Maxwell to William's brother John Carson, both
of them in NC. John settled in Rutherford Ct. NC. I don't
have any guess about the age of William or John. It is simply
through this letter written in 1783 that we know they existed plus
a document in York which says John gave land to his church
which was Associate Presbyterian in York before leaving "for
the Carolinas".
If you come across a William Carson in the Carolinas with
children by the names of Walter or Agness or Elen (which
could be Hellen or Ellen), I'd be grateful for the information.
Have done a bit of research myself but couldn't come up
with anything. This is more in the line of "if you come across"
rather than asking you to do a lot of research. Those folks
with direct descent are more important. My interest in
the two Carsons is because they might have something that
leads back to Ireland.
Thanks
