Hi Linda,
You can email me direct at gkcarson(a)aol.com to compare findings.
There are Robert Carson individuals in 1840 Indiana in Vanderburgh and Clinton counties (2
there). Are one of those yours?
Franklin Co PA was formed in 1784 from Cumberland Co. Do you have any clue as to which
townships they were in in Franklin Co? I have a lot of notes although I have them typed
under Cumberland Co because Franklin had not yet been formed (my research focused prior to
1784 mostly). We need to figure out which townships ended up as part of Franklin when it
was split off in 1784.
My Robert Carson line was in Lancaster and Cumberland counties 1750-1770s (used first
names Robert, David, Moses, Alexander, James, Andrew, William, John, Samuel). A Robert
Carson who died 1760 Cumberland PA was somehow related. A cluster went to Orange Co NC
then migrated west and southwest into other areas (TN GA SC AL). I think some cousins or
branches remained in PA. Descendants of a YDNA connecting Robert Carson (born 1717 died
1780s) line in Chester and Cumberland PA went west to OH. He had a son named David and
grandson named Robert (I probably mentioned that earlier).
Thanks,
Gary
