Bobbie,
I think we may have communicated before. My Carson line that came to Texas had some
Archibald names. It first appears in the recent line with Archibald Smith Carson b. 1858
Carroll Co AR, moved to TX, later died CA married Jinsy Bittick. He was a grandson of
Ambrose Carson, a brother of my 3g grandfather Samuel Carson I born 1804. Then Archibald
(Arch) D. Carson born 1903 TX (son of Dr. John Wesley Carson) died 1930 Howard Co TX, a
nephew of the first Archibald. Then, my grandfather Archibald Thomas Carson Sr. born 1897
Mills Co TX (son of Samuel David Carson) and my father Archie Jr. born 1924 Fisher Co TX.
I don't know where the name originated, but there were some other Archibald Carson
names the came out of PA. I think that's where our Carson line originated in the
1750s (Dauphin or Lancaster Co).
David Carson (my 4g grandfather born 1760-65) was in Washington or Greene Co TN 1790-1799
then in Buncombe and Haywood NC.
When did Archibald start in your line?
Gary Carson
