Scots, many from Chester Ct. originally, moved into the area called York
(now divided into York County and Adams County) when it was opened
to settlement - purchases of land were early 1740s. Samuel Carson,
Walter Carson and William Carson were the earliest Carson landowners
in that new area that became eventually Adams Ct.
Two John Carsons, Charles, Thomas and Patrick Carson settled in what
is now York County.
Patrick Carson m. Margaret ? and had children Jannett, Jane, John, Margaret,
Hannah, Moses, Richard and Mary. This would be your family from the names
you list. They were in Newberry and were Quakers. Patrick and Margaret Carson
were in York Ct. by Jul 29, 1740 when they witnessed a Quaker wedding. There are
also other documents establishing his presence. They were members of the
Sadsbury Monthly Meeting. Daughter Jane married John Garretson 1749, Richard
married Mary Passmore in 1761, Mary married 1st Edward Mullineux and second William
Bails 1748. Moses married Margaret McGrew. John (no info), Hannah (no info) and
Margaret m. Stephen Folk 1755.
Because it is a Quaker family, there are good records, and it is a researched family.
You need to start with what you know and work back, always making certain you can
prove/document your relationships.
Hope this helps.
