Hi Patricia,
I don't know where and when Robert Carson (the one who married Margaret
Woods 1755) died. It was probably in eastern TN but maybe in Iredell NC.
There were many Robert names in those areas. Below are some findings that are
apparently Robert Carson (married Margaret Woods 1755) who was in Guilford
Co NC plus some other findings of possible interest.

Hi Patricia,
I think the Margaret Carson who married John Reed 5 Mar 1779 in Guilford
Co
NC was a daughter of Robert Carson and Margaret Woods who married 31 Oct
1755 in Lancaster Co PA. Robert Carson was in Guilford Co NC 1777-1779
next
to William Woods, his brother in law (or half brother in law), and some
other Hannah and Strain in-law. Robert Carson had been in Orange Co
(Caswell)
on the S. Hyco 1764-1766.
I descend from this Robert Carson/Margaret Woods through son David. On the
Family Finder atDNA test, I match as a 5th cousin with a descendant of
Elizabeth Woods (Margaret's sister) and husband David Mitchell. That was
the
only possible link I could find that would explain us being cousins.

Reed
family for me I have another one as well who was in Rowan Co. earlier.
One
Reed family went to Williamson Co.> Lincoln Co. TN the other ( Margaret
Carson
Reed) family left NC and settled in Giles Co.

Subject: [CARSON] Andrew Carson
Andrew 1 married Elizabeth and died in Lincoln County, NC in 1799. Wrote
his
will in January 1799, probated in July. Children: John, Margaret,
Robert,
Jane, James, Andrew, Elizabeth, Samuel, William and Eleanor (last two not
of age
in 1799.)
Andrew 2 married Temperance Young 1783, 1 Mar 1765 - 29 Jan 1847, buried
in
Young Cemetery, Iredell, NC (I believe). I don't have where these dates
come
from. He was in the Revolutionary War and had a pension. I have his
children
as Thomas, Mary, Robert, Andrew Washington, Nancy Caroline, and Alfred.
Lindsey was supposed to be born in 1754 and that fits well with Andrew
2's
birth
of 1756. Andrew 1 couldn't have been born in 1756 and had children who
were of
age in 1799. I'd say his birth was 1740 or older.

I have Andrew Carson who married Temperance Young as the son of William
Carson
and Eleanor Eliza McDuff. My notes show that this William died around
1775, not
1799. I am on a portable device right now and do not have access to my
records
that I hope have sources of where I got his info.

Susie, and all researching Andrew Carson, I was looking over my
records
and I
saw the 1799 will for an Andrew Carson. I also have Andrew Carson who
married
Temperance Young (he died in 1841 and was in the Revolutionary War).
These are
two separate people and I don't think Andrew who married Temperance can
be
the
1799 Andrew's son. The 1799 will has children William and Eleanor, so I
do
think that Andrew is the son of William & Eleanor Carson. Sooooo, who
are
the
parents of the Andrew who married Temperance?
Anyone have any ideas on this? yDNA does say that line is still
closely
related.
