You are right about that many kids being grown by 1799. Probably couldn't
happen.

I keep flipping 1756 and 1765, sorry about that.
Yes, one or two children of age, sure, but eight? Now I'm not sure when "of
age" is at this time and place. 18? 16? 25? I guessed 18. We don't know
if there were infant deaths or twins, but spacing children two years apart
is pretty safe. That puts his first child at 1766 (John, and I suppose we
might be able to trace him to verify this, he has his own household in 1790,
everyone else is with their father.) and the marriage likely at 1764.
Again, I don't know the common marrying age at THIS place and time, but 18
should really be the youngest and 22 more likely.

My dates for Andrew 2 are 1 Mar 1756 - 29 Jan 1841, not the dates you show
here. I think I got these from records at the library and from my visit to
the Young Cemetery where he and Temperance are married.
Even though I agree that Andrew 1 is not the person married to Temperance, I
don't know why you say someone couldn't have been born in 1756 and had
children who were of age in 1799. That is 43 years and certainly enough
time to have grown children.

Andrew 2 married Temperance Young 1783, 1 Mar 1765 - 29 Jan 1847, buried in
Young Cemetery, Iredell, NC (I believe). I don't have where these dates
come from. He was in the Revolutionary War and had a pension. I have his
children as Thomas, Mary, Robert, Andrew Washington, Nancy Caroline, and
Alfred.
Lindsey was supposed to be born in 1754 and that fits well with Andrew 2's
birth of 1756. Andrew 1 couldn't have been born in 1756 and had children
who were of age in 1799. I'd say his birth was 1740 or older.

I have Andrew Carson who married Temperance Young as the son of William
Carson and Eleanor Eliza McDuff. My notes show that this William died
around 1775, not 1799. I am on a portable device right now and do not have
access to my records that I hope have sources of where I got his info.

Susie, and all researching Andrew Carson, I was looking over my
records
and I saw the 1799 will for an Andrew Carson. I also have Andrew Carson
who
married Temperance Young (he died in 1841 and was in the Revolutionary
War). These are two separate people and I don't think Andrew who married
Temperance can be the 1799 Andrew's son. The 1799 will has children William
and Eleanor, so I do think that Andrew is the son of William & Eleanor
Carson. Sooooo, who are the parents of the Andrew who married Temperance?
Anyone have any ideas on this? yDNA does say that line is still closely
related.
