Also just wanted to mention that I know Gary and I both plug the Y-DNA
research. I wanted you to know that I am a volunteer coordinator and Gary
is just an enthusiast for the the Carson line (though he volunteers as a
coordinator on other surnames). Pedigrees and results are FREE and
available to all. It just costs money to do your OWN test.
Here's a link to the pedigrees and Y-DNA tests are noted, if there is one.
y-Results are a link at top if you'd like to see those. They can be
confusing at first, takes a bit of schooling! :)

As Stephanie mentioned, I'm a proponent of YDNA testing because it helped
me
sort out my Carson paternal line. She and I have been comparing our
Carson
research for years. So, any time I notice a male Carson doing research,
I
mention that option. I'm especially interested in Carson lines in
southeastern PA and northern DE, NC and eastern TN in the 1700s and early
1800s. The
YDNA shows some connections among Carson lines in those areas, so the
more
participants, the clearer the answers.
Thanks,
Gary

I just tried to subscribe to ClanCarson and paid with PayPal; they accepted
my money but I could not create an account. When I e-mailed them (cc to
PayPal), they said the website was having problems and refunded the money
(less 40 cents conversion charge to pounds) to my account!!! I wanted to
check out Joseph Carson of Philadelphia, PA as early as 1761 or earlier.
Does anyone have info on Joseph and brothers?
Betty J. Carson of SC
