My line of Carsons were in Lancaster County, PA in the 1770s, then moved to Ohio. But my
brother and I have done several different DNA tests and we are closely related to McClain,
McClure, McLauglin, Beattie/Beaty/Beatty, Ramsey McCord, etc. I don't find all these
names in our tree (yet), but the DNA connects us. I found Colonial tax records from
Lancaster County, PA from 1771, 1772, 1773, 1779 and 1782...and all those family names
were living near one another.
Has anyone in this group had a male do a Y-DNA test done? My brother (Carson) is R1b1a2.
We might need to go back across the ocean to find the common link, but it would probably
be in Ireland (County Down) or earlier in Scotland.
