Hi Ellie,
Is your Uriah ancestor the one in Rowan/Surrey or Guilford NC?
The Alexander Carson married to Esther/Easter wrote his will dated Oct 29,
1775 (Orange NC, St. Martin's parish), proven in May Court 1776. and had some
grown children at the time. He is likely not a son of William Carson and
Eleanor McDuff because Lindsey born 1754 is mentioned in a June 1, 1784 as the
oldest son and heir of William. This Alexander had to have been born in the
1730s or earlier to have grown children in 1775. The Lindsey/Kit family trees
online are often shown with multiple extra children that don't belong.
Alexander's will mentions wife Easter, oldest son John who got improvements
purchased from Barnabas Grimes, second son James got the plantation he
purchased of Richard Parsons (mentions a house lived in by Kirk Witt), other sons
Alexander and Samuel (and mentions Easter being with child). Daughters were
Jean, Easter and Enibal (Annibell?), oldest daughter Mary wife of Joseph Joy.
Witnesses were Ezicaia X Will and John Moor; proven in May 1776 by John
Moore.
I hope this helps some.
Gary

The earliest Alexander (other than the unknown Alexander Harvey) I have was
born in 1769 in PA to William Carson and Eleanor McDuff. I show him married
to Esther McKim. I also show he is the brother of Lindsey (Kit's father)
and Uriah (our ancestor). I have unfortunately based most of my information on
other people's research.
