I found this reference for Carson and Maxwell land deed 1750...does anyone know about
this?
I believe this Carson/Carsan family were famous merchant shippers Strabane, NIreland with
later affiliations in Philadelphia? Probably associated with the Dunlope, Cunnningham and
Barclay families.
Primary document:
60 Registry of Deeds, Dublin, vol. 100, p. 354, #70771, vol. 307, p. 396, #204220, vol.
380, p. 112, #252964. Samuel Carsan to Rev. John Maxwell, November 29, 1750 (Davey and
Carsan Letterbook, LC). Belfast News Letter, December 27, 1763.
Was this a land deed for dowry or inheritance to Rose Carson (wife of Rev John Maxwell and
daughter of Robert Carson etc) Was Samuel Carson a brother to Rose Carson Maxwell?
