The earliest I know of my CURSON line is in South Tawton, Devonshire,
England. Samuel Gilbert CURSON m. Elisabeth HOLE in Okehampton, Devon on 4
June 1868, and sailed with their children to the US in 1872, settling in
Columbia, Brazoria Co. TX. They also lived in Houston, TX, where Elisabeth
died. They are my great grandparents. Their children were:
*Frederick Owen CURSON (b. 1869 Devon)
*Annie CURSON (b. 1870 Devon)
*Albert John CURSON (b. 1872 Devon)
*Charles Franklin CURSON (b. 1873? TX)
*Minnie Cary CURSON (b. 1875 TX)
*William Gilbert CURSON (my grandfather) (b. 1879 TX)
They also brought to TX with them, George CURSON, son of Samuel Gilbert
CURSON and Ann STANBURY, of South Tawton, Devonshire. I would love to know
what happened to this line - did they stay in Texas? They were in the Hays
Co., TX 1900 census with seven children.
