We have decided the old Bryllcream slogan ( a little dab'll do ya )is not
going to work for us.So we are going to lay out the whole "sheebang" to our
friends ,the experts at Rootsweb.
Our CRAIG file has the following entries, some documented ,some not.Depending
on what book you look at we came from "eastern PA' or "East of the
mountains
"
The first persons named are James CRAIG married Elizabeth CARSON. From this
marriage were born 2 sons: John-b 1781-1788 - d bet.11862-1869. ( our
research points to b. 1785 d.1862
James b. 1786 in Washington CO,PA - d. 1861 in Beaver CO,PA -m Mary McCoy.
Our twig is from John who married Isabella DUNCAN. From this marriage came
Joseph W, b .1805 in Maryland -d. Oct. 30, 1865 In Beaver CO,PA / Margaret,
b Aug.29,1809 / James, b. 1810 in Beaver CO,PA - m Margaret CROOKS /John,
b Jan. 29,1814 in Beaver CO,PA -d Feb. 27 1897 in Beaver County,-PA - m
Agnes Glendy
We have reason to believe that there were 3 more children from this marriage
based on a will: Nancy, Elizabeth & Isabella.
1790 census index shows James CRAIG in York, Northumberland,Philadelphia &
Washington Co.s in PA & Cecil Co. MD.After checking these we feel
Washington Co most nearly meets our data.
We feel the 1800 census index for Cecil Co.MD may be our James CRAIG but
have not been able to get the figures to justify this. We do know that they
finally settled in Beaver CO, PA.
We have exhausted all our leads & hope tht this will bring us some luck in
our search. Thanks for listening George
