Hannah deceased, acknowleged
settlement of estate of Andrew. His wife
Elizabeth also signed. Signatures of Elizabeth

- there is a record of Moses Carsons NC submitting a

clear but appears to be that Moses sold something

certificates which he later redeemed. There isn't
anything to suggest this was
payment for service. The amount was 2000 pounds
dated 12 Feb 1782.
ANALYSIS:
It is pretty obvious to me that there were three Moses Carsons in PA, one
the son
of Patrick and Margaret, another in Lancaster and one in Chester early on.
There are three marriages.
One Moses went to NC early 1770s and is associated somehow with James Carson
of Orange Ct. NC and Joseph Carson of Abbeville SC.
One Moses seems to have stayed in York PA.
Unless another Moses can be documented, the Rev War deserter has to be the
son of Patrick and Margaret because the other Moses is in NC. The very early
Moses would have been too old to have fought in the Rev War (had to be 21 by
1730). It would have been odd, I would think, for an older brother to have
been
a Lt. (Richard) whilst Moses was a Capt. This Richard could have been a
cousin,
there are several around. There was a wholesale desertion of troops at
about the
same time subsequent, if I remember correctly, to horrific loses in a battle.
The Moses Carson of Paxtang, Lancaster was not a Quaker in 1768-1770 while
the Moses Carson of Adams Ct (then York) was documented a Quaker at this
time.
The Moses Carson who married Elizabeth Hannah was at least 21 by
1763. Couldn't
have been the son of Patrick/Margaret. Probable that this Moses is the one
in NC/TN
with wife Elizabeth. He could not have been the very early Moses since he
died
1821.
The Moses Carson who receives goods of Robert Carson in Cumberland Ct.
could not have been Moses son of Patrick/Margaret, who was only 14 at that
time. Could have been the Moses of Paxtang m. Elizabeth Hanna. Could have
been the very early Moses Carson.
