Good AM fellow searchers-
I've been reminded about this because of recent computer problems that left
me without Email addresses of fellow researchers, libraries, etc. because
these were stored in my online address book. I sent something on this
subject some time ago but think it's worth passing on again.
I was able to reconstruct my Email address book because I'm using a net site
(free) called PlanetAll. I registered simply because I wanted an easy way to
keep up-to-date with the latest contact information for people I know or
correspond with. For example, in case someone who uses PlanetAll changes
email addresses or something else of importance, their contacts get notified
without a hassle. And our personal address books are safely stored (password
protected) as a backup to our own files.
So, long story short, my situation turned out alright since the information I
needed on email addresses was safely kept for me & easily accessable.
Hope this helps a few people go through unnecessary angst! If you'd like to
