OK, here is my next one to cross off my list.
I continue to look for the parents of Thomas L. HARDY
who was born about 1797 in VA.
Thomas L. (which may stand for Lewis) married before
1824 to unknown. He bought and sold land in 1827 in
Smith Co. TN--the property was located in what is now
Macon Co., TN.
He appears in the 1830 census in Smith Co with a wife
and 5 children.
I cannot connect him to Samuel HARDY of Allen Co.
KY (just across the border), but I wonder if
Solomon HARDY's daughter Ahoibama who married
John HARDY in 1798 maybe moved to KY or TN?
Anyone have Aholibama in your database?
Thanks for a lookup.

Hi Ida:
I have a Thomas Hardy (my third great-grandfather) as well but I hate to say
my information is very sketchy. My Thomas was supposedly from either MA or
VA and married Sarah Carson, half-sister of Kit Carson. I don't know of any
dates but I do know, however, that according to "Kit Carson - A Pattern for
Heroes" by Thelma S. Guild and Harvey L. Carter that Sarah came to Kentucky
with her parents in 1793. My Thomas would have probably met her in Kentucky.
This may be too early for your Thomas. They had a son, William M. Hardy.
He was supposedly born in NC. William M. married Rachel Wood and moved to WI.
Not sure, Ida, if this Thomas could be yours. I'm throwing this out to the
Carson list as well to see if anyone knows anything more about Thomas Hardy.
Hey, Carsons and Hardys! Know anything about the Thomas Hardy who married
Sarah Carson?
Sincerely,
Scott Robinson
