Thanks to all who replied to me, I have also written off list.
James jr, was my mother's father, born about 1873. He came to Australia,
worked as an assistant surveyor (no records) and was married when he was
about 40, (this is where I got his birth date).
On this certificate it states that his parents were James Robert Carson and
Mary Elizabeth Egan.
I have nothing to tell me when his parents went to USA, only my g.mother
(Jame's wife) saying that they were Irish. Again I do not know if they went
directly to Arizona or not.
Any research I have done in Phoenix has come up blank - even to being told
there are no records because of a fire.
The family in Australia moved from Victoria to South Australia where the
children were born. Here he worked as an engine fitter. From here my
g.father was supposed to have served in WW1, but no records - trying his
name many ways, even using his mother's maiden name.
I was hoping that when I found the Carson List, someone would be looking
for the family of a James Robert Carson and his wife, Mary Elizabeth (nee
Egan). Thinking it would be great to have cousins, but no. Never mind, I
enjoy the list and will keep trying to find more about this family.
I just wish my g.mother had not been so hurt with my g.father - either
going to war (where he was supposed to have been killed - a good story) or
if he had left her and the kids. She may have talked to us about him
instead of changing the subject.
