I do intend to order a test for my cousin. If we should have a match on the
37, how close could the relationship be? If I want to order additional
kits and do not know the names of the person to be tested how do I do that?
Thanks Marilyn

You can certainly do Sorensen, and I have, but they won't give
you
anything and they never even have to publish your results. My surname
wasn't so common, so I found it on there, but then trying to use those
results....well, you really need to know what you're doing, and study up
on all those markers. Every company tests for different ones and some
don't even seem to use the same names.
I always say FamilyTreeDNA because they have very large databases, and
that's what you need to make your test worthwhile. It's all about
comparisons. If your surname has a bunch of testees at a different
company, then I would test there. Ancestry may become a massive database
seeing as they have a great following, but they're not there yet. Just my
opinions, mind you.
If you don't have a lot of cash, but want to do it, I'd do the
"installment plan" and start with the $99 12 marker and keep upgrading as
you have the money. That's what I have done. And like I posted earlier,
there is a new test special for $119 for 37 markers, normally $189.
