Stephanie,
Was the Amos Carson you mention the one in Monroe Co TN (son of Robert
Carson who deeds him half his land in 1834)?
I'm still trying to track down my David Carson born c1760 PA or NC and his
oldest son Robert born c1790 TN. Theydisappear from NC between 1820 and
1830...and there are no death or estate records in that area of NC (Buncombe
and Haywood counties).
I'm trying to find more about the Robert Carson lines in Monroe TN 1830,
Humphreys TN 1830, McNairy TN 1830 and Knox Co TN 1850-1860. Also, there
are two Davids, a Robert and Robert B in McNairy TN 1830 of interest. Does
anybody know about them?
Thanks,
Gary

JCarson1953,
I'd love for you to email me. I do have information on the southern
Uriah's. Yes, Uriah became a Quaker after he married Mary Cook. His youngest
son, Uriah, however, did not marry Mary Pugh/Pew. This is a common error.
There were two Uriah's of the same age who followed the same general
migration. But one followed the Quaker migration and that is your Uriah's son.
He died in Indiana.
I descend from Uriah and Mary (Pugh) Carson, born in TN and died in Saline
County, Illinois, NOT a typical Quaker migration. Interestingly enough,
DNA still puts us all as kin. I suspect my Uriah is the son of Henry
Carson, but proof of this hasn't been found.
I have a scan of one of Amos' letters and would love to see the others.
Sometimes facts can be pulled from them, but of course some might be very
wrong or just a little wrong.
As to DNA, there are several tests on the Uriah lines and we even have one
for the famous Kit Carson (through his uncle Andrew's line), who sadly, is
NOT related, or so it appears. You need more tests to be definitive.
