From the Mobile, AL newspaper Tues. Nov. 26, 1907
"William
Carson , a Creole, age seventy-one years, died suddenly Sunday night at his home of
Hercules street between Monday and Davidson streets. Carson was a servant to an officer in
the Confederate army and was wounded during the four years' struggle. He was for many
years after the close of the war a steward on the river and was well known in ante-bellum
days. A number of Confederates in this city had about proved his pension claim and it had
been arranged for him to make application for same. Carson was seen on the street Sunday
morning and was apparently in the best of health, but was stricken with paralysis shortly
after dinner and never rallied."
Not my line, just sharing.
