I found an interview from 1894. No mention of Walter or Samuel. Perhaps it was a
misprint.

I also recall seeing that article, but don't remember
the name "Walter" used in it. I'll go look
for it and can send it as an attachment to whoever wants a
copy. I think I have two separate articles about her, or
perhaps I have one by his niece.
I do not believe there is any question that Kit
Carson's father is Lindsay and his father is William.
