Hi Josette,
In the Iredell will index (2 pg 90) is a William Carson will in 1827,
listing Rebecca R. Carson et al.
In 1807 Iredell, Samuel Carson's estate buyers were Margaret Carson Sr,
Margaret Carson Jr, David Carson, Andrew Carson, Mary Carson, Martha Carson
and William Carson, John Thompson, David Black, John McGee, Reuben Phillips,
Michael Wilson, James Guyor Gery Jr, William Brown, inventory by Margaret
Carson (received widow's provisions later) and David Black. This Samuel
Carson had been in Surry County 1790 then was back in Iredell on the 1800 tax
list with 400a. His estate is listed in 1815 in Capt Thompson's distrcit,
nest to Robert Carson Jr (son of Robert Carson Sr dec'd 1799 Iredell) and
James and William Bogle. Nearby is Henry Carson, John Elder and others
connected to Robert Carson. I think he was the Samuel Carson 1787 Burke NC next to
Alexander Carson at south end of Mt Pleasant next to Robert Bogle. Samuel
and Robert Carson were on a road crew 1796 together. He witnessed Robert
Carson Sr's 1798 will in Iredell along with Samuel Mans'd Carson. Robert's
will lists wife Elizabeth (Elizabeth Patterson widow of Henry Patterson
married Robert Carson Sr 1780s), daughter Mary Elder and son Robert Carson. In
1799 Robert Carson Jr gets land adj Samuel Carson, Borbert Bogle and others
on spur of Mt Pleasant.
In 1815 Iredell, William Carson had 135a in Capt Moody's district (same
page included Andrew Carson and Christopher Houston along with Patterson,
Owens and other names.
In 1836 Andrew Carson's will lists children Mary Anderson wife of Samuel
Anderson, Nancy Caroline Cowles wife of Josiah Cowles, Robert Carson, William
Carson dec'd, Andrew Washington Carson, Alfred G., grandson of Andrew
Carson Cowles, wit. John Wright, Miles Wilcox.
The William in 1820 Iredell may be the one dec'd 1826.
In 1799 Iredell was a Robert Carson Esq in Capt Robert Carson's company. In
1800, one Robert Carson has 400a and 300a. In 1815 Robert Jr just has a
poll tx and no land and he is next to Samuel Carson's estate.

The 1820 census lists a William Carson age 16-25 with two
males under 10, wife same age group. Does anyone know
anything about this William? Isn't there in 1930.
Also, does anyone know what happened to the 692 acre
Granville Grant to William Carson (m. Eleanor). Son
Lindsay sold off part of it. What happened to the other
half?
Josette
