Andrew is the father of Andrew W.(Washington). Andrew W. does have a son
named John, but he was not born until about 1838. Andrew W. Carson moved to
Henry County, TN. His father, Andrew, added a codicil to his will so that
the slaves originally willed to Andrew W. would stay in Iredell and not
divide the families. A DNA test has been done on a male descendant of
Andrew W Carson. We match a DNA test done on a great-grandson of Kit
Carson. The test does not match any other Carson's on the FTDNA Carson
project.
Suzie (3-great granddaughter of Andrew W. Carson)

That's exactly what I have except there is a deed where Lindsay sold 20
acres. Lindsay did inherit the entire acerage - no will, eldest son. There
is a John Carson b. 1813 where a descendent does't know John's parents but
maintains that they own the other half of William's Ganville grant. The
only Carsons 1820 in Iredell or Rowan with a male under ten are Andrew,
Andrew W., Robert and William (who doesn't appear in the 1830 census).
Sons of Andrew and Andrew W. are known - no Johns. Robert is confusing but
it seems like neither Robert has a son John.

Date: Sunday, November 20, 2011, 2:36 PM In my notes William Carson
receiving a 1761 grant in Rowan NC (Iredell Co
later) for 692a. In the 1778 tax list, Lindsey Carson has 302a, and in
the
1784 tax list he has 390a. In 1784, Lindsey Carson "eldest son and
heir of William Carson" sells 310a on 3rd Ck "part of 692a grant to
William Carson 1761."
I don't have notes on any other Carson deeds selling part of William
Carson's land.
