Dear Marion,
I found your information regarding the McFadden/Carson family and if appears that we may
be researching the same family. Do you have the date of Hugh McFadden's marriage to
Mary Carson? It appears that my GGGGGGrandfather may have been James McFadden, having been
born around 1772-75. His siblings being Samuel, Adam, Elizabeth, Mary, Hugh, and John. If
James is related, then I'd like to determine if he was married and had children. I
have documentation (will- Hugh McFadden) referencing the settlement of his father's
affairs (Hugh died intestate) in 1810. It also appears that the James you mention, after
settling the estate with his brother Samuel, Edward?, Adam and Hugh--who moved to OH,
remained in Centre County. Furthermore, my GGGGGrandfather's name is Robert K.
McFadden and he lived in Huntingdon County (Shaver's Creek/Manor Hill areas). He was
born 1805, and I can't find any reference to parents. I believe that he may one of
James' sons (he had three, and 1 daug in !
1810). Robert K. married Martha S. Wilson, also from Huntingdon, County. Their
Children: James Kerr McFadden (my GGGGrandfather, William W.- remained in Huntingdon
County and died there, Robert Porter -Lumberman in Clearfield County, Thompson (Thomas),
Martha, Jeremiah Samuel, and Agnes Hannah). They moved to Clearfield County around 1843
and both Robert and Martha died there. Any information you may care to share on this
family would be greatly appreciated.
