Hi Nancy,
It helps if you can include specific dates, locations, and names referenced in replies to
these postings. Many of us receive these postings via email, so all I see is the text of
your message without knowing the previous posting to which you are replying.
I logged in and saw that the John Carson you're referencing (born c1749 died Hardin KY
1820s) is directly connected to my Carson line.
John Carson born 1747/49 in Ireland who died c1824 in Hardin Co KY (father of James) is an
exact YDNA match with my Robert Carson line. My Robert was born c1730/35 and married
Margaret Woods 1755 in Paxtang, Lancaster Co PA and moved to Orange, Caswell, Guilford Co
NC 1760s, then to Washington/Greene TN c1781. This line connects with Moses Carson (from
same areas in PA, NC and TN) and a Carson line in New Castle Co DE and a Carson line in
Orange Co NC 1760s-1790s. A Capt Joseph Carson dec'd 1790 in SC also connects.
John Carson you mentioned arrived in Chester Co SC 1760s, arriving from Belfast, Ireland
via ship (have some details if interested). He left that area of SC by 1790s and moved to
KY (Hardin Co) where he died 1820s. Alexander Carson witnessed John Carson's will.
Alexander had been referenced in Chester Co SC as a son of Mary Harbison in her c1800
will. The land she left Alexander he deed to a Harbison...apparently he went to KY or was
already there by then.
These Carson lines connect closely...still working out how. Another Carson line in
Chester/Cumberland Co PA with a branch in Seneca Co OH is also a close match on YDNA. A
line in New Castle Co DE is also a match.
You can email me direct at gkcarson(a)aol.com.
Thanks!
Gary
