Esther Carson (m. Nathanial Maxwell) was the daughter of Patrick Carson
of Chester Ct. PA - proven long ago.
Walter and Agness Carson arrived in the US at least by 1728. Their daughter
Agness m. Henry Maxwell (first cousin; unproven, family tradition). Walter
and Agness
had four proven children: John (of Rutherford Ct. NC), WIlliam (in the
Carolinas somewhere), Agness (m. Henry Maxwell), Elen (mentioned with
parents at Quaker wedding Menallen, Adams Ct. PA). Andrew Morrison is
proven as an uncle of a son of Henry Maxwell; possibility that he married
Elen Carson. Henry Maxwell had no known sibblings. It is proven that
Samuel Carson of Londongrove Chester PA was related to Walter Carson
m. Agnes. It is highly probable that the Walter Carson who married
Mary Carson (daughter of Samuel of Londongrove) was also a son of
Walter and Agness Carson.
There is no proven informaiton on Henry Maxwell; his parents, when he
arrived, his relationship to Walter and Agness Carson, his birthdate.
I believe (but am not positive) that the same statement can be made
about Nathaniel Maxwell . No Maxwell researcher to my knowledge
has ever suggested they were brothers and there is no circumstantial
evidence that this could be the case.
Seven geneations would not take you to 1800 let alone beyond that.
Henry Maxwell was probably born before 1730 given known ages of
two of his seven sons.
I am a descendent of Walter and Agness Carson; Henry Maxwell m.
Agness Carson. In my efforts to get Walter back to Ireland, I have
accumulated and put on the internet information based exclusively on
existing record/documents for Carsons in PA and NC/SC before 1790
and will continue to do so.
I am of the opinion that if we collect in one place all records and
documents for all Carsons, it might be possible to connect up some of the
Carson
families and, in that way, get them back to Ireland.

......Did Agnes CARSON b ca 1740 have a younger sister named Esther CARSON
b. ca 1755 (or was she a neice [d/o john, gd of Walter Carson] as some have
proposed)??????
If anyone can prove or disprove this, please reply.
If they were sisters, then it helps prove our assumption that these two
CARSON sisters
were married to two MAXWELL brothers.
Recent DNA results indicate that Henry MAXWELL and Nathaniel MAXWELL are very
closely related. Since their estimated birthdates are just eleven years
apart, they could
be brothers.
And since they both had wives named CARSON, it would indicate that two
brothers in
one family married two sisters in another family....a very common practice
in the 1700s
and 1800s.
What leads to this conclusion?
In the MAXWELL FAMILY DNA STUDY, a living male descendant from each of the
above couples (Henry Maxwell m. Agnes Carson and Nathanial Maxwell m.
Esther Carson) provided DNA samples. These two Y-chromosome samples matched
exactly for the first 12 markers (loci). An additional analysis (refined
"high resolution" test)was made and the two
samples also matched exactly on a 25-marker test.
FamilyTreeMakerDNA statistical studies show that these two donors are
certainly related
and that they share a common ancestor in the past seven (probability 50%)
generations.
In other words, Henry and Nathaniel could be brothers and their father
(name unknown
through standard genealogical processes) could be the common ancestor.
This is new and exciting information as both of these lines seem to be at
a "brickwall" and have been thoroughly researched and revisited many times
over the years!
Both FTDNA and the Maxwell DNA Study have the policy of not releasing the name
of DNA donors, however, the DNA scores can be released with a coded
donor number.

Additional info: As of this date we have not had a UNEXPECTED 25/25 match
in the Maxwell DNA study...till now. We have had 25/25 matches in
genealogically proven lines to verify the reliability of the lab and the
results.
