Does anyone have information on Alexander Harvey Carson 1650-1718.
My information shows him being born and dying in Ireland. He was married to
Margaret Jane McClinton Wilson.
He was the father of John Carson 1680-1762 who married Sarah Dickey. He
also lived in Ireland.
John was the father of Willliam Carson who married Eleanor McDuff and died
in Iredell Co, NC.
Our lines go back to William.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Ellie Carson

Thanks for the up-date/info, Gary. I've stepped away from my research for a
few weeks. Needed to clear my head. The research addiction is strong....and
time consuming. I'll get back to it soon, and will keep you posted on anything
I find on my Robert Carson. See if somewhere along the path our lines connect.
Again, many thanks.

Hi Jenny,
I recently found information that it was Robert Carson Sr. who married
Elizabeth Patterson in 1785 Iredell NC. She was the widow of Henry Patterson who
came there from Lancaster PA. In 1782, Henry and Elizabeth Patterson's
daughter, Elie/Ellie Patterson had married the younger Robert Carson (apparently
the son of Robert Sr).
A Robert Carson died 1798 in Iredell with widow Elizabeth and son Robert,
witnesses Samuel Carson and Samuel Monsd Carson. A Samuel Carson dec'd 1807
Iredell NC. Samuel Carson's estate buyers included Margaret Sr, Margaret Mr.,
Martha, Mary, David, Andrew, and William Carson.
Please keep me posted.
Thanks,
Gary

I'm very glad that you "broke in" as I need any assistance offered. I'm
also
not sure one of my postings made it through cyber space. What I have on
Robert Carson (aside from previously mentioned birth/death dates - November
20,
1753-April 1842) is that he married Elizabeth Patterson on December 20, 1782
and has at least 2 children: John (b. about 1798 in TN) and my Catherine
(b.
may 8, 1799). The marriage information was found in Robert's Rev. War
pension
file. Robert is buried in Sissom Cemetery. A kind gentleman send me a
picture
of his marker. Pension files also states that he was born on Greenbrier
River
in VA, near Englishes Ferry, lived in Washington Co., VA at enlistment and
in 1782 moved to Greene Co., TN for 1 year then on to Jefferson Co., TN for
14
years (1783-1797), then to Blount Co. for 12 year (1797-1809), then to
Warren Co., TN where he applied for pension on July 8, 1834.

I have no information on your John or James. My research is from Samuel Carson (1750-1831) from Armagh, Ireland to VA, who married Sarah Gibson. Their known children are: James, Nehemiah (1776), George, Jane (1780), Elizabeth (1782) and Ann. I have no dates for James or George. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
