There were two Samuel Carsons in Pennsylvania at the same time. One was Samuel Carson who was married to Jane Patterson, most likely in Ireland, and then Sarah Reece Wallace. That Samuel was in Chester Co. PA and died in 1766. His will is of record.
The other Samuel Carson died in 1762 in York Co. PA married to Janet (unknown maiden name). The Samuel in Chester Co. is my Samuel and I have researched him in great detail. Samuel of York Co. is connected with the Kit Carson family. That family is discussed at great length in Carson Bent Boggs by McClung. As far as I have been able to discover in 30+ years of genealogy there is no close connection.

I have this couple on a tree without children but I do have family for Martha. Whe born 7 March 1868 d. 18 December 1946. She was the daughter of Verdemen Blevins 1825-1901 & Martha Jane Wright 1834-1914 (Atchison, Missouri). Verdemen was the son of Daniel Blevins and Lucy Roberts. I have Blevins and Carson's in my family. Trouble is that even with 22 Carsons in about the same area, never have I been abled to connect any of the family groups together. As far as the Blevins, I can give you a lot on them.

This couple had 10 children who I will name here. Carson is a name found over and over in decendents of the Dittemore family, both as a middle name and quite a few marriages also. Is there anyone out there that has a large Carson tree that these people show up on? Greene Co., Tennessee, Gosport, Indiana and Missouri all are locations for the Carson family I seek.

houses listed in the late 1790s-early 1800s. I am looking for a Carson

I'm trying to sort out at least 5 David Carsons listed in Washington, Green, Jefferson, Blount and nearby counties in Tennessee in 1787 until 1800.
In 1778, there were no Carsons in Washington County TN tax lists (the county covered all of eastern TN).
In 1783, Robert Carson appears in Greene TN. In 1796-1798 William Carson and John Carson appear in Greene TN. James Carson appears in Greene in 1809.
In 1787, several Carsons appear in the Washington TN first tax list including Moses, David, Rev John, William Sr, William Jr, Robert and William.
In 1790-1794 Washington County TN are 4 David Carsons on the tax list:
David Carson Sr.
David Carson Jr.
Little David Carson
David Carson
Other Carsons on the 1790-1793 Washington TN tax list included Robert (Sr and Jr), Robert, Williams (Sr and Jr), John, James, Moses, Andrew, James, and others.
Around 1794, there is a David wd (widow) that appears next to the same acreage associated with Little David Carson earlier, indicating he may have died.
In 1800 Jefferson TN, a David Carson appears and later acquires land there 1802-1805. Other Carsons in Jefferson include John, William, Samuel, Moses, John Jr., James, Nancy, Margaret, Rev W, Robert and others.
In 1787, David Carson administered the will of William Carson in Greene Co TN (widow Sarah).
In 1790, David Carson and John Strain were executors of the will of William Carson in Washington Co TN (widow Margaret). Children in will included Jeneat, Mary, William, John and 3 other sons.
In 1796, William Carson Jr. (widow Ruth) died in Washington TN, and David and Robert Carson provided security for the estate. Purchasers included David, Margaret, John Jr., Polly, John Carson.
In 1804, William Carson dies in Washington TN with widow Polly and children William, Susanna, Anne, Robert and Polly.
In May 1790, David and Robert Carson were shown to be sons of William Carson in Washington TN.
In 1811, David Carson died in Washington Co TN and left widow Hannah (no will). Purchasers from the estate included Margaret Carson and others.
In 1812, William Carson died in Washington Co TN and will executors were wife Sarah, George Bell and John Strain.
In 1814, estate sale of William Carson Jr. in Washington Co TN included purchasers Robert Carson, Eli Ritchey and others.
I've seen some family trees that claim a David Carson ancestor that is actually multiple people. I've also seen some that claim multiple children that are not the same family.
If anybody would like to work to sort this out, please let me know.
Thanks,
Gary

You've got the Samuel Carsons mixed up - there were several around.
Samuel Carson m. Jane Patterson was on the tax rolls of Chester Ct. PA in
1725, town of Londonderry, and subsequently married Sarah Reece Wallace.
The had ten children, some of whom went to York SC and others stayed
in PA/Maryland (Elizabeth, Hannah, Jane, Agness, Walter, Margaret, Rebeca
William, Mary and Francis). Well researched line.
There was a Samuel Carson in York Ct. married Jean ? and had at least
one daughter, Elizabeth b. 7 Dec 1790.
In that part of York that became Adams Ct. PA, there was a Samuel Carson
who married Jeanet ??. They had children David, William, a girl who married
George Daborn, Mary who married John, Elizabeth and Samuel. They lived
in Mt. Pleasant Twp.
There was a Samuel Carson in Philadelphia who died 1778.
The Samuel Carson m. Jane Paterson/Sarah Wallace was related by blood to
Walter and Agness Carson who show up on the tax list of Londonderry in 1729;
could have arrived at the same time as Samuel. We have a letter which
establishes the blood relationship but doesn't provide clues as to whether
they are brothers or cousins. Note that Samuel names children Walter and
Agness. Samuel's son Walter marries Mary, daughter of Walter Carson on
the tax list.

Hello Harold. I do indeed have information about your Alfred Burton Carson. His father, John Mitchell Carson was the older brother of my great-great-grandfather, Andrew Pickens Carson, which means that we share g-g-g-grandparents, Margaret (Peggy) Dillingham and William Carson. Your Alfred was named after his uncle, Alfred B. Carson. My records show that your Alfred was born Mar. 13, 1854 in Buncombe Co. NC and died in Upland, IN. His first wife was Sarah J. Marr, b. NC circa 1857 and d. 1886. Thus, Alfred was not divorced. He married 2nd, Mary (called Polly) Anderson, b. Buncombe Co., NC, Oct. 1859. She was the daughter of William D. and Jane (Russell) Anderson. My source doesn't mention that she was divorced but possibly hints at it by saying that "....in the early 1900's, they moved to Upland IN with their young children where they became respected members of the community." Your Alfred was called ALSE. His father died in the Civil War and his mother later marri!
ed Alfred B. Dillingham, a cousin of her husband's. This is all taken from the book "Dillinghams of Big Ivy, Buncombe County NC, and Related Families" by Margaret Wallis Haile. I would be happy to share with you all that I have. Let me know if you want information only about Alfred and his life or about extended family and ancestors. Please email me direct at sbabb2(a)aol.com.
