Hi there, was reading along on this query and was wondering if you knew or
heard of anything about an Arthur George CARSON, born early 1900's, he was
married to a Roxey May DAVIS, they had at least one son, Bill Davis CARSON, b.
1925, who was born on an Indian reservation in South Dakota (Rosebud, cannot
confirm though). I'm having a heck of a time with this line, cannot even get
concrete facts about Bill, according to family lore and an IGI record (we
know how reliable they are), he was born in South Dakota... according to his
son's birth certificate, he told them he was born in Iowa. I can't find Bill,
Arthur or Roxey in the 1930 census anywhere. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
THANKS,
Kim

This is to give notice to Nancy Carson, now living in the Forks of Delaware, that her brother Christopher Dixon, died on ship-board, coming from Holland, and has by a will, left her several goods, and some money, now in the hands of Capt. George Parish: She is therefore desired to come to Philadelphia forthwith, to Thomas Lawrence, Esq., who has the will in his hands.
I am not related to this family, I am just passing on this information, which comes from a book titled "Runaway Women, Elopements And Other Miscreant Deeds, As Advertised In The Pennsylvania Gazette - 1728 -1789. (together with a few abused wives and unfortunate children)." Compiled by Judith Ann Highley Meier. Published by Closson Press. 1993. Page 20.

In checking the Carson Bent Boggs Genealogies by Q. McClung I did find mention of quite a few Millers. Some of their connections were not clear but there was a line of Millers apparently descended from Kit's uncle Robert Carson 1759-1810. This line migrated early to Ohio County, KY. The only mention of Dakota's was a Carson line yet to be connected to Kits family from a David Carson, son Robt (1762-1837), son Jackson Willoughby Carson (1818-1887) whose son Samuel B. I have been told all of my life that I am a decendent of Kit Carson, from my dad's mother's (Eileen) line. Their family name was Miller, and they came from the Dakotas. I have also been told that I am 1/16 American Indian, Souix. Although Miller is a common name, I found it interesting that someone else had mentioned a Miller as being related to Kit Carson.

I'm hoping to find a Peter Paul Carson. The only information I have it that he was from the Blue Ridge Mountains area??
My two half sisters are his daughters. They were born in 1930 and 1932 in Houston, Harris, Texas. According to one of their birth certificates he would have been born in 1902. They don't know anything else about their father.
I was hoping to find him for them. He left our mother when the girls were only 2 and 4 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No one knows where he went after that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Might not be able to find him, but, I'd like to try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you.
Doesn't anyone connect to the Thomas Carson b. ca. 1780-95 SC possibly who
married Catherine (King???) and gave issue to children, Thos. Jefferson, b.
1816, TN, Hiram King b. c. 1818 or earlier, James b. 1818 or 1820 and Matilda,
possibly a Nancy. These Carsons lived in Franklin, TN or in Williamson Co.,TN.
Sons, Hiram K., Thos. J., James and sister, Matilda came to TX with the
mother, Catherine Carson whose spouse Thomas must have died earlier in TN or
elsewhere.
The Hood family of SC and TN and the Brannons/Brannans and
Viziers/Viser/Visors are related in TX to the Carsons. Zahr/Zarr, Bird and Nichols are
connected by marriage also...
If you connect on one of these lines please email us..thanks Jean in TX

I am working with two competing theories:
Francis Carson Hubert, an early Carson Family Researcher, wrote the following:
First Generation. SAMUEL CARSON of York County, Pa. Left a will, but returned to Virginia with young Col. George Washington, after service under General Braddock during the French and Indian War. His wife was Jeneat, their children were at least numbered six: John Linn, George Dabann, Elizabeth, David, William, and Samuel.

Josette L. Maxwell of Boone, North Carolina, in an email to me said that the above story was not consistent with her research. According to Ms. Maxwell:
In what is now Adams County, Pennsylvania, there were three Carsons early on.
William Carson who married Mary Moore and had children: William, Rachel, and Ann
Walter Carson married Agnes and had William, Agness, John and Elen.
Samuel Carson married Jeanet and had David, William, Samuel, Elizabeth and two daughters (one married John Linn and one married George Dabann).
The elder Samuel Carson was born 1699 (on tombstone) and died 28 September 1759, buried Conewago Presbyterian Church Straban. He was a Constable in Mt. Pleasant
Twp 1757, and secured a warrant for 100 Acres March 9, 1742/43.
Samuel’s son David Carson married Susanna McBride. He's on a tax list in Mt. Pleasant 1762. Marriage mentioned in the will of Susanna's mother, father Andrew McBride.
There is a land grant transfer of Susanna's inherited land from her father; at that time she is in Miffin County, Pennsylvania. David’s daughter Mary Carson was born 16 May 1756 (church record with father identified).
I would appreciate any information on the possible parents of David Carson, born Abt. 1741 and died Abt. 1804. I suspect that as a Scots-Irish family they migrated down the great valley from Pennsylvania to Washington County, Virginia.
