Hi,
I have an Amon Hood Carson whose mother was Carrie Hood who was born June
21, 1856. She married James Guillen Carson, born July 31, 1852. They were
from Tionesta, Forest County, PA. Amon Carson Married Marie Engdahl whose
ancestors came from Germany. Amon Carson went to Oklahoma (not too far from
Texas, relatively speaking for the size of Texas). Does this sound at all
familiar to you? If so let me know.

My great great grandfather’s name was Fortunato Alfredo Corsano, who was born on the island of Losinj (in Croatia) in about 1846, possibly born in the town of Mali. His father was a trader or merchant and possibly not from Losinj. His mother was probably a native Losinj. He also had a brother who migrated to Canada.
In about 1867 he migrated to Australia onboard the ship “Nineveh”. He worked in gold mines at various locations and later was an overseer involved in street construction. Towns of residence in Australia were all in the State of NSW, being in Grafton, Wellingrove, Sydney (Leichhardt), Bathurst and Wyalong.
In Australia he changed his name to Alfred Carson. He married a Scottish woman Agnes Smith in 1874 in Grafton. They had the following children: Alfred (also named Fortunate), Frank (also named Francis), Archibald, Agnes, Islay (also named Peter), Clarence, Wesley, Margaret and Victor.
He was naturalized in 1881 and died on 9 November 1929 in Sydney. He is buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Rookwood, Sydney, however I don’t believe his original religion was Presbyterian.
I am a descendant of his third son Archibald. Only recently did I discover that my great great grandfather was actually from present day Croatia. Until this time my entire family believed that he was from Ireland. This was an incredible discovery for the family.
I have hit a brick wall in attempting to find any further information on this person than what is written above. If there are any distant kin out there or perhaps any people with any tips I would be keen to hear from you.

I am looking for a Margaret Carson who married a John Reed in NC then later
moved into middle TN last know Giles Co. , it could be possible that they were
in Williamson Co. Early on.
Would you have her on your data, a William Carson signed their marriage bond
in NC late 1700s.
Thanks,
Patricia
For several years now, I have been searching for information on John K
Carson's parents. Recently, I came across a census record that
provides additional clues. I now know that John was in Fulton County,
Pennsylvania in 1880. At the time he lived with his wife (Rachel
Truax), three daughters (the first daughter's name is only partially
legible, but may be Amelia; the other two daughters are Launa and
Sarah). In addition, John's older sister, identified as Maggie Carson,
age 30, lived in the home. John lists his father's birthplace as
Ireland, and his mother's birthplace as Pennsylvania (although a later
census records her birthplace as Germany).
Does anyone else have any of these people in their files?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Steve

I found the following family in Williamson Co., TN in the 1850
Federal Census:
Robert Carson age 76 born Virginia
Jane Carson age 53 born Virginia
William Carson age 39 born Virginia
James Carson age 23 born Tennessee
Thomas Carson age 20 born Tennessee
Mary Carson age 18 born Tennessee
I am interested in finding out where in Virginia Robert Carson
was born. I would also like to know who Robert's parents
and siblings were. I would also like to know when and where
Robert Carson married Jane.
I am especially interested in who James Carson married
and whether he continued to live in Tennessee or moved
somewhere else.
