FINALLY, some of MY Carsons. Is Walter's wife Agnes Hare? If so, I am a
descendent of son John Daniel who married Mary McFarland in PA. I have an old
handwritten list of their 10 children that came out of my GG grandfather
McFarland's Bible.
The intermarriages with the McFarlands, Gettys etc. are quite confusing. I
wish they all would not have named their children alike!
Susan P. Graben
Hello, I have a Carson line from Pa. to Orange Co. N.C. to Washington Co.

I would like to see each of our subscribers post their earliest Carson ancestor. Mine is Samuel and Mary Carson who arrived in Cortland county New York about 1802. Their sons, James and Abraham in court records indicate that they arrived about 1797 in New York. Samuel along with John Glenny registered as brinish alien in 182 in Syracuse, Onondaga County, NY. Arriving with them was probably James and John Glenny and families as they were supposedly the administrators of the will of a William Glenny killed in Montreal during the revolution. James Glenny sold some of the bounty land given to William in Tompkins County. Among the Glenny children or young adults was William and Sally Glenny. William gives a long declaration is his application for citizenship. .Sally Glenny married Darius Scofield and named a son William Gelnny. He reversed his names and was know as Glenni William Schofield and served in congress and the US Treasury. The following is found in several places on!
the internet. Marilyn Carson Bess

I'm looking for info on Ellen S. Carson. Believe she was born about 1873 in Ohio to Leonidas Asper & Rebecca Wisner. She married Henry Lawrence Asper & they had 7 sons & 1 daughter. Ellen was my husbands great-grandmother. We have a picture with Ellen, her son Leonidas "Lon", his daughter Vida & her son Larry (my husband). Would very much like to find her family line. We've been told it goes back to Kit Carson, but we're not sure how. If anyone out there knows anything about Ellen S. Carson we'd really appreciate hearing from you.
Do you know the children of this John Carson? I have a Jane Carson who
married a Robert McCauley Jr. in 1794 in that area of Va. I have not been able to
connect her with any Carson family. Thought she could be the grand daughter
of this John Carson. Any help appreciated. Jackie

Genie,
Thank You for the reply and the Census information. I wish I could find Mary Carson-Davis in the 1920 Census Kings Co. NY. I'd like to be able to get an idea of when she died. I wanted to be able to get a death certificate for her. I believe Louisa might have been Mary's Aunt. But that's just a guess. I'd also like to find out when Solomon died. I'd like a death Certificate for him as well. I wonder where I could go to find out where in Canada Mary's family was from?
Thank so much for the help.
Yvonne

This looks like your family, in the 1900 US census:
1900, New York KINGS 11-WD BROOKLYN BORO Series: T623 Roll: 1050 Page: 96
DAVIS SOLOMON 48 M W MA NY KINGS 11-WD BROOKLYN BORO 1900
He was b Dec 1852, MA, his parents b MA, a sea captain, md 16 yrs. Wife Mary b Nov 1864, CAN, parents b CAN, md 19 yrs, had 4 children, 3 living, immigrated to US in 1895???;
children Wm. 15, Ethel 12 and Edith 1, all b NY; also a boarder named Louisa Carson, 54, b CAN, md?, immigrated 1865, had 1 child, 1 living, works as servant. All listed at 130 Myrtle Ave.
In 1910, Mary A. Davis is widowed, a private nurse, her mother Theresa?, 68, is with her, and they both are listed as having immigrated 1866. Same children as above, Wm. is an electrician, Ethel is a private nurse. All listed at 3321 Avenue I, 32nd ward, Brooklyn.
There are a few age and other discrepancies, but can't figure out if Louisa (very clearly written) and Theresa? are the same person or not - don't think the name written is the same though - maybe a middle name in one case?
