John,
While I don't have name of Eleanor Ailsa McDuff's father, her mother is
believed to be Eleanor Gordon, b. Scotland, d. 1814 (poss. Rowan
(Iredell) Co, NC), where Eleanor Ailsa McDuff Carson was born and died.
This is my wife's line, although I have not worked this branch in
several years. She is descended from William Carson through son Robert
(1759/9-1810) through Lindsey Robinson Carson (1805-1876) through Joseph
Linthicum Carson (1836-1908) through Olive Edna Carson (1878-1951)
through Lula Edith Thompson (1911-1990). If any of this matches your
line, I would like to compare notes with you.

This is directed to the descendants of Kit Carson (or his siblings):
Kit's grandfather, William CARSON, married Eleanor MC DUFF in York
Co., PA, in 1753. Have any of you determined who her parents were?
Birth vitals? If so, I'd sure appreciate your sharing this
information with me.

Hey,
Having just subscribed, I should introduce my Carson interests.
My g-grandmother, born in the 1860s in Paisley, Scotland, was an
Isabella Carson Gargan. While her parents, Thomas Gargan and Jane
Graham met and married in Paisley, the father was originally from the
Stewartry of Kirkcudbright (as stated in the 1861 census), probably
from Gatehouse in the parish of Girthon (the place noted on his
youngest brother's 1856 birth record).
The parents of this Thomas were again a Thomas Gargan and an
Isabella Carson. They would have been born in the mid to late
18-teens and been married in the mid-1830s and I'm assuming that
would have been in the Gatehouse area. Their family would have been
there until sometime between 1856, when the youngest was born, and
1861, when they appear in the census for Paisley.
Anyone out there have similar Carson interests?
