Hi Richard,
Yeah, I've had trouble w/RootsWeb today also.
The Wm Carruthers have been a source of intense scrutiny lately, as are PA
Carruthers. I want to get your info to our researchers for their views. Have you
ever posted what you have to the Carruthers-L List? It is then saved into the
Archives, which are reachable easily at:
http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/c/carruthers.html
We do have some people doing some rather deep digging into Carruthers. I will
be posting a scanned-into-text research piece soon.
If you may have some more unique insights, we look fwd to them when you
shake free. Do look into the Archives - When you try again later, start
w/Browsing some recent msgs that have interesting Subject lines:

Best,
Barry

Hello Barry,
had trouble and did not connect to
rootsweb.com when I tried. Will try
later.
I live in northeastern part of Maryland next to Chester Co., PA. I have
done research on several Carruthers families in the area. Mine, William
CARRUTHERS 1740's; Francis Sr. Cecil Co., MD; Alexander, lower Chester Co.,
PA; James, Bucks Co., PA to Loudoun Co., VA, part of family to OH. More
later,
Regards,
Richard Crothers
Hi James, [James Carruthers Bucks Co PA 1720s md Rachel Parker] & Tommy (I
also live in Mich Bham 48009 - you?) )
Have we talked before? 'Our' Carruthers go back awhile.
Please use our extensive Carruthers Archives:
http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/c/carruthers.html
where you can also OneClick join.
In fact, the issue of PA Carruthers are a present topic of discussion.

Hi Maggie
I am working on the Ohio family slowly, And yes members my own lines are in
Ohio , I'm a double Carruthers, one half of me (my Surname) is from Scotland,
weare know as the Holmain Carruthers, the other half is from Scotland, to
Ireland to America, known as the Dalton line, never the less both halfs are the
Mouswald line, as you put it
Carruthers Castle. The family has been coming here sence 1604, our English
family uses the family Crowders, this is our Thomas Carruthers line, Tom didn't
side with family
and excaped into England as our history goes. The Surname Carruthers sole
family No matter how you se spelled , we all decend from Sir Wm De-Carrutherys
1066 , and there are no records of him having siblings etc.
