Hi again Vynette,
Thanks for your Line. This is our Carruthers Line. We have a Wm C b abt
1730 and a James C b abt 1696; otherwise, it looks like there should be, but
none apparent, a connect.
I am forwarding this on to the List and to David Glen Carruthers with whom
I previously communicated and who has an extensive Carruthers database, some of
which you can see at:
http://tor-pw1.netcom.ca/~gcarruth/adult.html
David Glen Carruthers <gcarruth(a)netcom.ca>
Residence: Apt. #605 600 John St N Hamilton
Province: Ontario
Country: Canada
Postal Code: L8L 4S3
Home Phone: (905) 819-4105
Perhaps this matches up with his Line(s). Let me know because there is
still much potential overlap.

Hi Barry,
My apologies. The information on the Craven Co. Will of Eunice Carruthers
came from FHC microfilm #0018618, pg 139. I think the marriage info was on
the same microfilm. I don't mind the information being shared, or posted,
anywhere. Personally, I'm grateful for similar information I find that
others have taken the time to share.
I don't know if this Carruthers information from Craven Co., North Carolina
will tie into my Caruthers research. I certainly believe that it will. My
interest is in Samuel Car(r)uthers who was born in 1798 in Burke Co.
Georgia. He supposedly married Mary Jane Phillips in 1826. Their oldest
son, Augustus Lafayette Caruthers, was my great grandfather (born March 6,
1829). He lived in Sumpter Co., Florida, killed a man in a saloon fight in
abt 1878, and made a quick, unexpected, permanent move to west Texas--out
of the reach of the long arm of the law. The family was actually quite
respectable.
Samuel Caruthers who was born in 1798 in Burke Co., Georgia was possibly
the son of William and Nancy Caruthers. His brothers were possibly James
(born abt 1800) and William Brinson (born 1808).
I believe, but cannot prove, that the Carruthers family that resided in
Pennsylvania in colonial times, drifted into the southern states and that
the southern branches of the Carruthers families in America are directly
connected to them---all from around Annandale, Scotland.
I'm always pleased to find another researcher interested in some of the
same people as I. I will happily share any, and all, information, with any
interested. I'll keep in touch.
