Hi and Thanks Vynette Sage,
I hope you don't mind my forwarding this to the Carruthers List.
Someone might want this desperately, and surely will at some point in
the future. I will check my own NC Carruthers, about which I have been
in quiescence for some period. I will try to put this on the
Carruthers-L Wills site.
Are you researching Carruthers (dumb ques - why would you have this
stuff otherwise?). Where did this come from? Sounds like LDS research.
If someone wanted to follow up, where would you suggest?
Thanks for the input - I hate to grill someone who has just offered
some potentially great info - a negative motivation for further input.

Will of Eunice Caruthers, Craven Co., North Carolina

In the name of God, Amen, I Eunice Carruthers, residing in the state of
North Carolina, widow, being of sound and (?) mind and memory do make this
my last will and testament in matters following that (?) bequeath and
advise with my daughter, Lydia, that after payment of my just debt &
funeral expenses that all and every part of my estate of estates of
whatever nature, etc.same of find that I do (?) in said Lydia Rollins so
executure of this my last will & testament hereby revoking any will to me
otherwise made.
In witness thereof, due said Eunice Carruthers have (?) my name and
published this as my last will and testament this twentieth (?) day of
November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred&eighty four,
signed and published by (?) in Testatrix in presence of the us and
(?)subscribed our names as witnesses:

I'm sorry that I can't read the poor photostat of this poorly filmed will
that was written in script. I have sent this along in hopes that it will be
of benefit to others. If it is your family, you might want to look at the
original will. The names Eunice Carruthers and Lydia Rollins are quite
clear--as is the date of proof.
Does anyone know who Eunice Carruthers is?
