Hi Malcolm,
Thanks for the eye-watering & excellent Carruthers Gen. I'm in Michigan
US, but I'm leaving town - I'll email upon return.
We have 1700s Carruthers in New Eng, Penn, NCarolina, GA & other places,
but seek the 'original' Carruthers emigrants. More later. Spend time

Hi Barry,
Sorry for the delay in replying to your email which I received on friday
morning, I have had a bit of a problem with my computer running very slow,
all anti virus checks of the complete system have not revealed anything
un-toward and a full disc scan has been run with no faults yet again,
however, it would seem that it has put itself back in running order once
again.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am assuming you are USA based? If I am
correct, then I have the advantage of living in an area close to all our
roots. When I have the time, I travel over the border into Scotland and
visit as many old churchyards as possible. With this in mind, I would be
quite happy to send all my gathered information from various churches from
both sides of the border, I'm sure someone will find something of interest
amongst the texts. The unfortunate thing for me is laws of privicy in the
UK are so archaic and bound up in miles of red tape! For you American's
tracing back your family lines is much easier than it is for us in the UK.
I would expect to be of more use to you than you will be to me, this is
not
a problem to me as I would like to be of help as much as possible to
you
all!
I am in touch almost every week with a Bruce Caruthers and Tommy Carothers
both in the USA, the following files were set up as part of a
correspondence
with them. I think you will find them self explanitory.
When your head stops spinning and your eyes have recovered from all the
names, dates, and addresses etc, I would appreciate it if you would let me
know if any of the information sent was of help or interest to you or your
group. Finally, I have added at the end, a list of Carruthers in Cumbria,
which includes their occupations, I hope this is also of interest to you
all.
My very best wishes to you, I hope to here from you in the very near
future.
Malcolm.
