SUMMARY: My goal is to find the generations beyond James Rice (d. 1817)
and trace my ancestors back to Europe. Since there are several James's,
John's, and William's in every State and County of our country in the eary
years, I have tried to concentrate on the easily identifiable 247 acres
granted to a James Rice by Thomas "King" Carter in 1730 and try to connect
it to my James Rice (d. 1817) in Loudoun Co. Va. I didn't quite make the
connection but came close and in the meantime found some Rice's (Hugh and
Sarah) who were connected to the 247 acres. Are they related? Not sure. I
hope all of you with a vested interest in this line will analyze my data and
provide any documented data that will add to it. Many of you have already
provided invaluable data on various decendants of James Rice which is
extremely helpful and appreciated. Your theories and speculation are also
welcome. Bill Rice in Texas
