Hi again Carruthers, ('Missing Links', is missing!)
Well List, we were visited by one of the annointed, Julia Case herself,
who pointed out that not only had I overlooked another set of research
resources in my list, but that they contained a couple refs to Carruthers,
in this case perhaps modest in scope, but if you needed them, maybe avail
nowhere else, see below.
By copy of this to her, we extend our appreciation for the time and
energy she took to assist us. And this might be the perfect time to point
out that her RootsWeb publication "Missing Links" is, along with her
'sister' publication previously mentioned, RootsWeb Review, free, and quite
useful, AWA enjoyable to read. However, the directions how to subscribe to
'Missing Links', how do I say this? is Missing! It should be near or with
the RootsWeb Review instructions, on the 'Front Page' of RootsWeb:
http://www.rootsweb.com/
or at least referenced in RWR, but I searched and could not locate.
Either subscribe to RWR, as I suggested in the last message, and you'll
eventually determine how to rec ML also, or use Julia's suggestion/ URL/
Link which she included w/her email message below!

CEMETERY LINKS: Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lost Graveyard List
by Diane L. Mueller dianelm57(a)juno.com
Recently the COLORADO SPRINGS GAZETTE ran an article stating
that Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs, El Paso County,
Colorado was almost full and due to that they were doing an
inventory of graves bought but never used. Most of the these
graves were purchased in the late 1800s. Descendants have until
9 May 2001 to make claim to the graves or they will lose
ownership. Many of the graves were purchased as a set when one
spouse died but later the surviving spouse remarried or moved on
and never used the other grave. Some were purchased as a family
gravesite but the children later moved on and never used the
graves. I thought the list of names might be interesting to
people doing research. Perhaps a relative was in Colorado
Springs for a time in the late 1800s and purchased a grave but
later moved on. The names are listed with the purchase date.

=========================
o Picture of graduating class June 1920, CLAYTON SCHOOL,
Denver, Colorado. CLAYTON SCHOOL was later renamed STEVENS
SCHOOL and is on the corner of Columbine Street and 11th Avenue.
The building has been converted into a condominium complex.
The names apparently were not written in the order of how
students appear in the picture, but as my aunt remembered their
names. This was probably the class that my aunt Vida BUNCE was
to have graduated with, since her handwriting is on back of the
picture although she does not appear in it. There are 35 persons
in the photo but only 34 names below, and I wouldn't be able to
tell who was left off, as my aunt died at age 95 in 1999. Only
10 of the 35 students were boys. Names in alphabetical order:
Ruth ADAMS; Ronald ANSELMENT (?); Veneda (?) BAUMGARTNER;
Dot BESWICK; Virginia CARRUTHERS; Elizabeth CARTER; Otis CRANE;
Harry CREAN (or CREAM); Larue (possibly Laura?) DODD; Elizabeth
FARMER; Virginia FORSYTHE; Claudia GEIGER; Corinne GLASGOW;
Elma GOODWIN; Virginia HARVEY; Ellen HEICK; Gerard McFARLANE;
Elizabeth MEIGS; Helen MERRITT; Katharyne NASH; Irene NEFF (or
NEIF); Finlay ROBINSON; Edward ROE; Harry SATO (possibly
oriental boy in right side of top row); Virginia SLIPP (or
SHIPP); Colinette SMITH; Catherine STALEY; Raymond STEDMAN;
Margaret SZOLAS; Helene TAYLOR; Catherine TERREE (or FERREE);
Glen THORNTON; Morris VORENBERG; Frances WOODROW.

Hi, You missed one -- the fully searchable database containing
all back issues (weekly since mid 1996) of MISSING LINKS and (one
to four times per month since 1999) SOMEBODY'S LINKS at
http://www.petuniapress.com/
As it happens, apparently the surname CARRUTHERS only cropped up,
but the references might be significant to
someone. Here were my results -- I did not click on the links to
the individual back issues to locate the references, but someone
might want to.
